Hi, I'm Akshara Rajan. I started Born to Chamak.
Before there was a brand, there was a book. I wrote The Twin, a novel about identity, about the faces we show the world and the ones we keep to ourselves. I never thought jewelry would feel connected to that, but somehow it does.
That's really the whole idea behind this brand. Jewelry you wear every day, that feels as considered as the jewelry you save for special occasions. Something quiet. Something you almost forget you're wearing, until someone asks where it's from.
Everyday elegance meeting handcrafted luxury, and that balance is harder to hold onto than it sounds. It means choosing restraint again and again, even when it would be easier not to. Details most people will never notice but you. I think simplicity might be the hardest, most sophisticated thing you can design for.
